The development of local council in Siatista

Siatista from its creation was managed by Council that collaborated closely with the Church and later with each Metropolite, which on each important action of Council subscribed “the Metropolite Sisanioy and Siatistis epibebaioi”. The council was constituted by capable number of citizens probably round the 20 - that in Siatista, as it results from action that they are quoted in the code Zosima, they was called most honnest sovereigns. According to the delivery in the beginning they were named “dia sigillioy letter” after proposal of Metropolite, later they were elected from the residents that had right of vote. With the Turkish law that was in effect in 1850 it was founded in Siatista the Town hall. The mayor was elected by the sovereigns that were called henceforth dimogerontes and were named by Moytisarifi Serbias. In 1890 were suppressed the Town hall and refounded in 1900. In 1914 with law DNZ were suppressed the Town hall and Siatista were named Community. From then Siatistinoi elect with voting their Community sovereigns.
